Learn Reasonable Accommodation Requirements and How to Process Requests for Each Type of Animal
Participants, in this course will learn how to distinguish between “pets”, “service animals”, and “support animals”.

Applicable Statutes, regulations, and judicial rulings will be outlined. Types of animals allowed in a tenant’s home and in PHA common areas will be discussed, along with policy considerations, such as fees, deposits, processing procedures, and policy enforcement.

Sample forms will be provided to help eliminate abuse by those trying to avoid pet policies, while documenting the need for a support or service animal by those persons who do have a disability that significantly limits a major life activity.
