Public Housing

Public Housing Denials, Terminations, Evictions & Grievance Process

Description
Resolving Disputes and Avoiding Potential Problems

Any applicant can appeal a denied application, and most but not all disputes during occupancy can be addressed through the informal settlement process. The grievance and eviction process can be easy if the proper documentation and procedures are followed consistently.

Participants in this course will learn step-by-step procedures for conducting and documenting Informal Hearings, Informal Settlements, and Grievance Hearings that encourage positive outcomes and are compliant with regulations. Sample procedures are provided that can be customized for use at individual PHAs.
