The majority of participant/resident files with errors are due to the lack of proper documentation of income and allowable deductions. Building on the basics of rent calculation, the instructor for this “live” online course will provide guidance on the types of verification documents that should be in the file for income, deductions, and allowances. Also covered in this course is HUD’s hierarchy of verification methods and mandatory use of the Income Validation Tool (IVT). Case studies will be used to ensure that the proper methods of verification are more easily understood.
