Key Aspects for Proper Waiting List Management

Participants will learn requirements and best practices for managing site-based, community-wide, and combined waiting lists for the Public Housing Program. Participants will also learn how to properly open and close waiting lists (or portions of waiting lists), as well as how to document these actions.


Guidance will be provided on how to properly apply preferences, determine initial eligibility, and notify applicants of their status. Additionally, Fair Housing issues related to advertising, outreach, and skipping applicants will be addressed.
